The marina at The Rio Indio Lodge has three 25 ft. center consoles for offshore fishing. The most common fish that are caught are Tarpon, Snook and Red Snapper, all within sight of the shore. Spinning and casting rods are availble for those who have a preference and are spooled with 65 lb. Power Pro braided line. There are also 10 john boats equipped with 40 hp outboards for fishing the rivers and jungle lakes. The fresh water fishing offers Snook and Tarpon, but is also rich with exotic species of fish like the Gaupote (Rainbow Bass), Machaca and Mohara bream. The marina supplies all the rods, reels, tackle, nets and ice to make for a successful day of fishing on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua.
