Jungle Adventure Tour

5 Days\4 Nights

Day 1: Arrive in San José, Costa Rica. You will be met at the airport by a Rio Indio Eco-lodge representative and transferred to the Ramada Herradura, San Jose.
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel starting at 6am and transfer to Braulio Carrillo National Park. The park is a highland rain forest of 35,000 acres. After passing over the continental divide you will arrive at Rain Forest Adventures Atlantic. Here you will have a delicious lunch of local flavor and your choice of 2 activities.

After lunch you will be transferred to Puerto Viejo, Sarapiquí (Old Port). You will board a river boat for a 3 hour journey. A experienced captain will take you on a guided tour down the Sarapiquí and San Juan rivers, where you can see crocodiles, toucans, macaws, monkeys and other wildlife.
The river tour ends in a late afternoon arrival at The Río Indio Eco-lodge, San Juan de Nicaragua. There will be time for a welcome cocktail, registration (double occupancy) and to prepare for a great dinner in the lodge’s gourmet restaurant. In the evening you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful views of Captain Morgan’s Lagoon, a cocktail at the lodge’s Bar La Draga or simply relax by the pool.
Day 3: Starts with a full breakfast that includes fruits of the rain forest.
Bilingual guides will then begin a day of adventure in the Indio Maíz Biological Reserve. This is a great opportunity to explore and learn about the rain forest plants and many exotic animals.
Lunch and afternoon visit to Old Greytown and the colonial cemeteries. A talk is presented about the history of the American gold rush and the role that the Rio San Juan played in the transfer of miners.
Dinner and a guided night tour to spot nocturnal wildlife and baby crocodiles in the waters surrounding the lodge.
Day 4: Breakfast and a Boat tour to the interior of the 870,000-acre Indio Maíz Biological Reserve. We will visit Lake Silico and return to the lodge for a great lunch.
After lunch, participate in a 2-hour guided tour of lodge’s extensive network of trails that cross its 200 acre private grounds.
Rest of the afternoon off to relax by the infinity swimming pool
Farewell dinner with open rum bar.
Day 5: Breakfast and morning boat transfer to Puerto Viejo, Sarapiquí and on to San José.
